Apartment Spotlight: The Hamiltons and Jubilee House

Published on June 13, 2022 by

As we approach the summer of 2022, there’s a lot to brighten our days in Cambridge; teams are returning to their offices to connect and collaborate, and the city is welcoming back more and more international visitors. If you or your organisation are planning to visit Cambridge, to take advantage of everything this global hub for business and culture has to offer, why not consider the comfort and security of staying in a serviced apartment? Today’s blog highlights two of our apartment locations – The Hamiltons and Jubilee House – exploring why these spots are so sought after and why they might make a first-class base for your Cambridge stay.

The Hamiltons

Found just a fifteen-minute walk from the historic city centre, The Hamiltons is home to both one and two bedroom apartments including penthouses that provide balcony views across Cambridge’s rooftops. The apartments are also within easy reach of the Cambridge Business and Science Parks so could be an ideal accommodation choice for anyone working at one of the exciting organisations that have offices or laboratories on these coveted sites.

Previous guests have described The Hamiltons as “a home away from home” and, with the nearest grocery store only a minute away, those who stay here can easily source ingredients to make many favourite dishes in the fully-equipped kitchens. Alternatively, a short amble along characterful streets leads to some quintessentially English pubs where guests can enjoy a meal or a round of drinks. The Boathouse boasts a beautiful riverside terrace while The Green Dragon was a favourite of the fantasy author J.R.R. Tolkein, inspiring him as he wrote The Lord of the Rings.

The Hamiltons is also just across the River Cam from Midsummer Common. This expansive, ancient grassland is a rural refuge in the heart of the city and, in the warmer months, also serves as the grazing ground for a peaceful herd of Red Poll cattle. The rolling Common offers the natural beauty of a countryside escape and is the perfect place for guests to unwind on a walk or run before returning “home from home” to their apartments.

Jubilee House

Those wishing to benefit from Cambridge’s strong connections to other areas of the country, including London, should consider staying in Jubilee House. The traditional, Victorian building contains one and two bedroom apartments and is a simple, ten-minute walk away from Cambridge station where trains leave regularly for key destinations. The prosperous area around the station is known as the ‘CB1 quarter’ and has been newly revitalised as a centre for contemporary business with a range of attractive office spaces (that already host famous names including Microsoft and Amazon) as well as outdoor areas, coffee shops, bars and a visiting street-food fair.

Guests of Jubilee House can also enjoy staying mere moments away from Mill Road. A lesser-known Cambridge highlight, this street of hidden gems is home to multicultural supermarkets and independent eateries serving cuisine from around the world. We especially recommend Limoncello or Liutaio Music Café for a delicious meal after a busy day’s work or exploring the city.

Like The Hamiltons, Jubilee House is popular with and consistently praised by our guests due to its fantastic location as well as the “excellent service” provided by Your Space staff. One recent guest describes how “nothing was too much trouble” for the team, who respond swiftly to queries and requests, while another tells us they “wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Your Space Apartments to anyone [travelling] to Cambridge UK.”

Here at Your Space, we want our city and our clients to work together to achieve their full potential, and we love helping people have a comfortable, fruitful stay in the part of Cambridge that best suits their needs. If you would like more information about any of our apartments, please do get in touch.  We hope to welcome you here soon.
