A SPECIALIST Covid-19 service is to be launched to help international workers arriving at Cambridge technology companies negotiate new quarantine rules.

Your Space Apartments, which say they provide more personal accommodation than a hotel by offering self-catering apartments in the city centre, will provide the service for new arrivals following the government ruling on a two-week quarantine period for any-one arriving in the UK.
The service includes an apartment address that can be registered with the authorities, assistance with transport direct from the airport to the apartment door, food packs and a virtual concierge and shopping service while isolated.
The new service comes as companies say Cambridge is open for international business, yet there are fears the quarantine of international travellers could deter vital international workers from coming to the city.

Owner of Your Space, Suzanne Emerson, said: “I would appeal to other companies to join us in saying loud and clear that Cambridge is very much open for business around the world.
“We’re proud to support the business community at this critical time as we emerge from the lockdown and try to help the economy recover.”

Diane Beverley, administration assistant at Samsung, which makes chips for mobile phones in the city, added: “Samsung is a global company so it is common that we have visitors from all over the world.
“We understand and fully observe the Covid-19 restrictions.
“When we are back to receiving visitors, Your Space apartments is a company we will look to support us with this.”
